A good samaritan spotted these poor dogs
huddled together in the freezing cold on the
side of a 4 lane highway. We believe they
may have been thrown out of a moving
vehicle. The samaritan immediately got the
family to Animal House Shelter for care. The
entire family includes Jemma, and her 2 sons
Memphis and Cronos. Jemma,
the sweet mother, tested positive for
heartworm and requires costly treatment.
Please consider sponsoring this family on
their long road to recovery. They love other
dogs and all people. They are very sweet and
just need some love, care and attention.

Here are some special stories & videos
Animal House shelter, Inc would like to
share with you!
Note from Dylan Nelson, owner of The
Doghouse of Barrington-
The Doghouse of Barrington has recently been
teaming up with Animal House Shelter. We
realized we could help dogs with a wide
array of issues just from our pack &
services. Exercise, socialization, sleeping
with our staff and constant love & attention
have played a huge role in rehabilitating
our first few dogs who needed good homes....
Currently we are rehabbing Lucky and JJ, 2
Male MinPin/Chihuahua litter mates. They
came to us to work on there social skills
with dogs and humans. They were very scared
and timid upon meeting someone new. But they
passed our temperament test and they've been
living with us for 3 months now. They are
now ready for a good home, so we've put
together this little video to show you their
amazing progress. If you or anyone you know
might be interested, please call us at
847.381.9959 for more details. Thank you
Lucky & J.J's Video!

Lucky JJ
Lucky & JJ are two 3 year
old Min Pin/Chihuahua mixes that we rescued
as strays from a high kill facility in
Southern Illinois. When they arrived,
they would not even let staff or volunteers
touch them at AHS. Thanks to the
generosity of Dylan Nelson with the Doghouse
of Barrington, they have made huge strides
in their trust of people. They warm up
to women much faster than men but they just
need someone to give them time and
compassion. We are looking for someone
to adopt the two of them together as they
are very attached to each other.
Please consider fostering, adopting or
sponsoring these two boys!

highly recommends this Daycare/Nightcare
Facility! They have training, doggie

dogs at night, wonderful & caring staff and
even a spa for the dogs!!

Georgia needs an early Mother's day gift!
Please donate to help Georgia now!
This sweet Chocolate Lab mother arrived at
Animal House 1/19/11 with 12 puppies! Upon
arrival AHS staff was shocked at the
condition this selfless mom was in. She
loved her babies so much that she gave them
all she had. Georgia spent so much time
feeding her pups that she couldn't even
think about eating anything herself. She was too weak to
even stand on her own when she came in.
Please help Georgia by sponsoring her so she
can get the urgent medical care and
rehabilitation she needs or consider
fostering her, this nurturing mom needs some
unconditional love of her own.
UPDATE: When Georgia first arrived at AHS we
noticed that she was not putting any weight
on her back leg. We initially thought
it was solely because of malnutrition that
she was weak and couldn't walk properly.
Georgia went in for her first vet check up,
the vet did x rays and now says that she
needs surgery on her hip (FHO surgery) and
it will cost the shelter around $1,000.
We really need your help with donations.
Her medical bills will exceed $1,500 with
everything before and after surgery.
Please donate by clicking on any Donate Now
button throughout the site or by mailing a
check to Animal House Shelter, Inc.
Thank you for your support!

Nemo is an eleven year old
Himalayan Mix - Lynx Point who
is a real love-bug who cannot seem to get enough petting! He
was found wandering the streets of Huntley in the cold and
rescued by a good Samaritan. Nemo came to AHS drooling
profusely, with a mouth full of infected teeth. So, after a
course of antibiotics and complete blood work panel to make
sure he was healthy enough, he got a dental and all of his
teeth were removed. He feels so much better and is eating
very well both wet and dry food. Nemo is just the nicest cat
who loves being held, sitting on a lap or just a good long
petting session. Please stop in to meet Nemo and give this
senior fellow a home. Adoption Donation:$75

Donate canned food! Help us
fatten up our new arrivals! Please sponsor the little starved babies
we receive at AHS. They will
need a lot of extra food, love, and medical care
while they are with us. Any monetary or food
donations would be greatly appreciated. Please help
us reverse this horrible neglect!

PLEASE HELP SPONSOR THE HEARTWORM POSITIVE
DOGS WE RECEIVE AT AHS!!
Heartworm is treatable but very expensive.
Heartworm positive dogs are typically those that are left out in the elements and
we never on preventative. Please Donate to help us pay
for the treatments. It costs approximately
$200 per dog! You can click on any Donate Now
button throughout the site or send a check to the shelter. Below
are examples of some of the many heartworm positive
dogs we get in every week at AHS.
