Temperament: Cooper is such a loving dog and loves attention. He just wants to be pet, talked to, and snuggled. Cooper is house and crate trained. When he goes to daycare/boarding they keep him in a crate when they leave and overnight. But at home, he is free to roam. Cooper is never destructive. He is used to other dogs at home and daycare. He is submissive, never the dominant one. He’s a big goofball. He has some very silly habits that make people laugh. When he gets a big drink or gets wet outside he finds a rug and just wiggles and rubs his face and body all over making some funny sounds too! So funny. He is clumsy from time to time, which is so cute. He is sensitive as well. He sometimes doesn’t know his size and when he gets too excited will jump. We tell him “off!” And he complies. But- at times his energy gets the better of him and we have to tell him more than once. He does need more practice walking on the leash. But with patience and some treats- he is very trainable.

All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate) and up to date on preventatives at the time of adoption.

All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment. Photo ID will be required at time of adoption.

The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Please note, all applications are considered general and stay on file for 6 months. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, the adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family.

Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown.
