Find A Pet
My litter includes: Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Elton John!
A word from Frank Sinatra’s foster: “My son named the puppies and Frank Sinatra soon became Frank the Tank because he has the Shar Pei face and would come running at you if you are sitting on the floor and launch himself into your lap. He would get very excited and try to kiss your whole face and he would nibble my son’s beard. Frank has a great personality and will fit in with any home lucky enough to get him. He has a lot of energy but is very loving. He does some crazy stuff though. If you walk out of a room (like the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom) he will start barking at your feet and keep going backwards barking but never gets close enough to you to hurt you. He loves to run around and try to act bigger than he is.”
All dogs are microchipped, neutered/spayed, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and started on Tri Heart Plus & Vectra 3D.
I will be available for adoption on January 26th. I cannot have any visitors before January 26th. You will need to fill out an online application and receive a phone call back from a staff member that everything is ok with the application prior to January 26th. All family members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of the adoption.
We open at 9 am Saturday mornings and we will be helping adoptions in the order of when they submitted an approved application to us. There will be a sign in sheet on the front door at 8:30 am so that we can pull applications for the people that arrive between 8:30-9 am. Again, the order in which adoptions will come in to the shelter to see any adoptable dogs or cats first thing on Saturday mornings will be as to when the application was submitted to Animal House Shelter so there is no need to come to the shelter any earlier than 8:30 to sign in. This will be the procedure for people that arrive between 8:30-9 am.
After 9 am, on Saturday mornings it will be first come, first serve after we help all of the adoptions that signed in between 8:30-9 am. Most people submit general applications to us which do not specify a name or a particular litter they are interested in so there is no way for us to know until people arrive Saturday morning at 8:30 how many people are interested in a particular litter, puppy, kitten, cat or adult dog. We always have around 300 dogs & cats available for adoption and the adoption counselors will help you to find the right companion for your family!
Please fill out an online application and we will give you a call as soon as we receive it. Visit our ‘Adopt’ page to view adoption process steps, policies, requirements and FAQ. View our ‘Visit’ page for hours and directions to our shelter. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Our website is always kept 100% up to date with who is currently available. All new animals (40/week) are added to the site 2 weeks before their availability date to give you time to fill out your adoption application and get the family ready to come out to the shelter that day. As soon as animals are adopted, they are moved to the Adopted Pets page so if they are still listed on the Adoptable Dogs or Cats page, they are still available. So keep any eye on the site for any animals being added as available for adoption as new animals are added everyday! We would recommend if you haven’t done so already that you submit a general online adoption application with us so it is on file for when you are ready to come out and adopt. The adoption counselors will be able to show you many that would be a good fit for your family. We do go in order of when you submitted your application with us. So it is always best that you get your general application for any animal in with us as soon as possible.
