** MUST BE IN A HOME WITH ANOTHER DOG **

Notes from my foster mom: In just a few days, Kay went from hiding in a corner to being a spirited canine playmate. She just needed another dog to show her that life is good. Kay is an absolute sweetheart, affectionate, and quiet. She was rescued from a hoarding situation and does best with other dogs to follow and learn from. It takes a little time for kay to warm up to people. She seeks attention when attention is being given to another dog; and makes friends with those who give her treats and let her snuggle on the couch. She would love a home where she can be by her owner’s feet all day long and keep them company. She sleeps great at night in a crate, knows some commands, and is almost completely potty-trained. She has never made a mess in her crate at night. Kay is looking for someone who will take time to help her build confidence, get daily walks or playtime and be allowed to live inside as a close family member. This inquisitive girl is guaranteed to make you laugh. The joy you will feel by seeing her flourish, continuing to trust humans, and become a confident dog will be very rewarding. Kay will need consistency, love, patience, and praises. If you are willing to be her hero, she will be yours.

All dogs are microchippped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate) and up to date on preventatives at the time of adoption.

All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment.

The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Please note, all applications are considered general and stay on file for 6 months. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, the adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family.

Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
