Find A Pet
FeLV positive. In foster care. Please call ahead with your approved application to make and appointment to meet Luna. Hello My Name is Luna and I am Feline Leukemia positive.
My name is Luna and I am a Feline Leukemia Positive cat. I was found in February 2013 in a very cold, vacant garage abandoned by my owners. I was terrified when I first arrived at AHS and a wonderful lady decided to take me into foster care to work with me. I was never shown love or tenderness from humans before, but over time I started to see what it was like to be held, cuddled and LOVED! It took over a year for me to allow my foster mom to hold me without trying to run away. She kept telling me she wasn’t going to give up on me and that she would never let anything hurt me so I let myself trust her. I now show my love for her by meowing at her for attention. When I want her to pet me I will walk in front of her, flop over on my side and wiggle. I have come a long way since my rescue. I live with one other kitty named Moon Struck who is also Feline leukemia positive. Our life span isn’t as long as a normal kitten or cat would be because of our condition but we deserve a forever home just as much as any other cat does!
All cats are microchipped, neutered, dewormed, current on all vaccines, and FeLV/FIV/HW tested.
Please fill out an online application and we will give you a call as soon as we receive it. Visit our ‘Adopt’ page to view adoption process steps, policies, requirements and FAQ. View our ‘Visit’ page for hours and directions to our shelter. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Our website is always kept 100% up to date with who is currently available. All new animals (40/week) are added to the site 2 weeks before their availability date to give you time to fill out your adoption application and get the family ready to come out to the shelter that day. As soon as animals are adopted, they are moved to the Adopted Pets page so if they are still listed on the Adoptable Dogs or Cats page, they are still available. So keep any eye on the site for any animals being added as available for adoption as new animals are added everyday! We would recommend if you haven’t done so already that you submit a general online adoption application with us so it is on file for when you are ready to come out and adopt. The adoption counselors will be able to show you many that would be a good fit for your family. We do go in order of when you submitted your application with us. So it is always best that you get your general application for any animal in with us as soon as possible.
