Note from Robbie’s foster home:

My name is Robbie, but I answer to Bubs because my foster mom already has a Robbie in the family.  I have been in foster care since 9/11/2017.  I am a very gentle and mellow dog who enjoys playing with other dogs, kids and am good/gentle with cats.  I like to run around the house, chase my tail, wrestle with other dogs, eat raw hides, play tug of war with people and other dogs, squeaky toys and to chase rabbits. I also enjoy looking out the window at the squirrels, people and other dogs.  I only look, I don’t bark.  I am a very quiet dog in general.

I am potty trained, and will ask to go out by standing by the door or nudging your arm while you sleep.  I am doing much better with going outside during the day, but feel more confident when it is dark outside.  I am not kept in a create because I broke out of it once and my foster mom was afraid I might get hurt, but I am very good when my foster mom is at work or out of the house.  However, I do have a few places in the house that make me feel safe (corner between furniture, bedroom closet, quiet end of a hallway) that I like to stay in.  The time I spend there is growing less and less.  I am starting to enjoy staying on a large dog bed in the bedroom and living room.

I enjoy belly rubs, ear scratches and lower back rubs.  I will come up to you and ask for ear scratches, and if you stop when I am not ready for you to, I will nudge your arm.  If I don’t want you to touch me I will move away from you.  I am learning to tolerate being brushed everyday since I do shed a lot.  I also had my first bath at a do-it-yourself dog wash.  Although it was scary, I overall did well and think I will do it again.

I respond to a few commands such as no, need to go out?, come here, and want a treat?.  I am working on sit, stay, stop pulling and down.

I am getting to be a good eater.  My foster mom is able to leave food out in my bowl and I will eat it when I am hungry.

I have made great progress while in my foster home, you should know that it takes me time to feel safe with humans.  The other dog in my foster home has showed me how nice and loving humans can be, but  I am still working on a few things.  I am still scared of loud and unfamiliar noises.  I usually walk nice on a lease, but if I am scared I will pull, leading back to the house.   I have a fetish for the inserts of shoes.  If shoes are left out they are hard to resist.

I am in need of a home that will show me love, and give me the time I need to feel comfortable with them.

All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and started on Tri Heart Plus & Vectra 3D.
