I am 57 lbs, great with other dogs, cats & love people!

Here’s a message from his foster!

“Rowdy is the sweetest, most fun-loving dog that has ever been brought into our lives. He gets along fantastically with every pet and human he has ever come in contact with and has no mean bone in his body. We have 2 very small senior dogs of our own (5 pounds and 15 pounds), a cat, and 2 mice and Rowdy has been nothing but a best friend to all of them. He plays accordingly with all of his animal friends and loves to play fetch, tug-of-war, and frisbee with his human friends. Overall, Rowdy loves to do everything from going on long hikes to snuggling up with you on the couch to watch a movie – and let us tell you, he’s a cuddler!
He is a spoiled boy that sleeps at the foot of our beds at night and is great at keeping watch for the entire family while doing so (he’s essentially a cuddly watchdog); however, Rowdy is also COMPLETELY crate trained and has proven to us to be able to spend complete nights in his kennel with no messes, barking, or whining. In addition, he has been able to learn his name and how to walk on a leash, play fetch, and sit on command in his time with us (and we’ll admit, we’re not the most strict so if anyone put an ounce of effort into teaching Rowdy more advanced skills, Rowdy is smart enough to catch on quickly – he has great potential!). Rowdy is also completely housebroken and is great at holding his bladder until he goes outside. He also has no territorial issues over any of his food and toys, and he has never been fed human food so he is not picky about eating his dog food. To reiterate, Rowdy will definitely do great in a home with children, other dogs, cats and will do well around other small animals when monitored closely.
We cannot stress enough that Rowdy is no doubt everyone’s dream dog that has been depicted in every childhood movie ever made – his personality is vibrant and expressive, his actions hilariously goofy, and his love for his family is unbreakable. We will warn you that the first week that we had Rowdy in our home that we had thought we had bit off more than we could chew (which is probably where is name came from); however, after having Rowdy be a central member of our family coming up on 6 months now, he has finally had the time to discover how to adjust to living in a real home. As a result, “rowdy” is no longer the first adjective that comes to mind to describe our best friend. If it weren’t for our desire to be able to provide more dogs like Rowdy with a spot as a foster in our home in the future, we would not hesitate for a second to make him a permanent member of our family – and a member of your family is exactly what Rowdy wants to be.”

All family members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of the adoption.
