Temperament: Meet Axel! He is a small, incredibly charming boy with a big personality to match. This handsome schnauzer/poodle mix is sweet, affectionate, and full of happy energy, always ready to brighten the day of the people around him. On top of that, he’s undeniably cute and knows how to work it. Axel does have a heart condition called degenerative mitral valve disease, which means he will need to remain on daily medication for the rest of his life. He’s doing well and enjoying life, but his future family should be prepared to continue his medical care and partner with their veterinarian to keep him feeling his best. Axel would thrive in a home looking for a loving, lively companion and willing to provide the ongoing care he needs. In return, he offers endless affection, joy, and a whole lot of love.

All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption.

All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption.

Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family.

Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown.
