A note from her foster family: “Coat: She has two coats (hair and fur), so she is low-shed. She has a naturally formed Mohawk when her hair grows out. Personality: energetic, loving, playful, snuggly, sweet, and smart. Likes: playing tug-a-war or catch, trying to dig the squeaker out of toys, running laps in the yard, taking walks, acting as an extra in my kids’ home plays, dancing with the kids, cleaning up table scraps, cuddling up and watching TV, staring out the window and monitoring neighborhood activities, cleaning up scraps under the kitchen table, running through the sprinkler, playing in the snow, helping bathe the kids, playing dress-up, and basking in the sun. Princess has always lived with at least one other dog, and I think she would do best in a home with another canine companion. She is good with kids but might be best with kids who are old enough to wrestle and play tug-a-war with her (my kids are 5 and 7, and she has never been aggressive or rough with them, though). Princess is house broken and knows commands such as “sit”, “stay”, “take nice”, and “come””.

All dogs are microchipped, neutered/spayed, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and started on Tri Heart Plus & Vectra 3D.

All family members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of the adoption.

Our website is always kept 100% up to date with who is currently available. All new animals (40/week) are added to the site 2 weeks before their availability date to give you time to fill out your adoption application and get the family ready to come out to the shelter that day. As soon as animals are adopted, they are moved to the Adopted Pets page so if they are still listed on the Adoptable Dogs or Cats page, they are still available. So keep any eye on the site for any animals being added as available for adoption as new animals are added everyday! We would recommend if you haven’t done so already that you submit a general online adoption application with us so it is on file for when you are ready to come out and adopt. The adoption counselors will be able to show you many that would be a good fit for your family.

Please fill out an online application and we will give you a call as soon as we receive it. Visit our ‘Adopt’ page to view adoption process steps, policies, requirements and FAQ. View our ‘Visit’ page for hours and directions to our shelter. We look forward to seeing you soon!
