A note from my foster: He is still a bit shy (we know this might take much more time) but definitely interested in the whole family. We spent the first evening allowing him to decompress a bit. He stayed on the back closed in porch and we left the back door open so he watched us and peeked around the corner to check on us from time to time. Eventually he came in before bed time and found the cozy dog bed in the dining room which gives him full view of living room and into the kitchen so he could watch everyone in the house. He slept well and the next morning after Kaeden and Phil made it off to work I spent the day working from home. He constantly peeked at me from around the corner all morning and by afternoon he felt comfortable enough to join me in the office where he has a “work bed” near my desk. Since that first day he is now stuck to me. His name really should be Shadow 😉 He snores loud, sleeps well and is one of the gentlest dogs I have ever encountered. He is scared of every little noise but it is understandable as there is so much new here for him. It may almost be too quiet but he is enjoying it. He snores like a freight train at times which makes me believe he is really cozy and relaxed. He is slowly making friends with my son. He allows him to pet him and be near but he is still cautious. Oh, did I mention… he has discovered the couch and really loves to lay there. He won’t do stairs to the 2nd level yet but that’s ok. He needs lots of time and we are willing to give him whatever time he needs.

All dogs are microchippped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate) and up to date on preventatives at the time of adoption.

All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment.

The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Please note, all applications are considered general and stay on file for 6 months.
